Food plan, week 13

As I suspected, most of our dinners were consumed at my sister’s, so we have a lot of “roll overs” this week. Let’s see if I manage to consume more dinners at home this week – only time will tell!

Sundayquiche with turkey bacon and spinach, served with salad

Monday: Sausages and potato salad (possibly on the grill if the weather continues being this nice)

Tuesday: Meatballs in a curry sauce with rice and salad

Wednesday: My sister’s birthday, so we are there for dinner

Thursdaytomato soup

Friday: Braised beef, cooked in the Römertopf, served with potatoes and salad

Saturday: I am cooking with Noelia all day, so will not be home for dinner and the boys will have to sort themselves out!

Food plan, week 12

To be honest, I will probably not be eating dinner at home much this week as I have promised my sister to go up there for dinner to help her out. I have however still made a food plan, just in case there are days we are not going up there and what we don’t have this week, we can have next week:

Sunday: Spaghetti and meatballs

Monday: Turkey bacon and spinach quiche with salad

Tuesday: Pizza day

Wednesday: Eggs and beans on toast with sausages

Thursday: Tomato soup with homemade buns

Friday: Homemade burgers with potato wedges

Saturday: either at my sister’s or at a friend’s for dinner

Food plan, week 9

Here I am again with a poorly Lukas – this time it’s not his ears, but the flu – PROPER flu, not the kind of flu you have when you say “I have the flu”, but really you have a cold with a bit of a temperature. Thankfully we have Calpol and a big bed and he is able to sleep.

But that aside, it is time to plan next week and do the shopping. We have had to buy a new DVD player, so I am trying to compensate for that buy, by looking through my fridge and freezer again.

Sunday: Chicken curry served with rice, naan bread and onion bhajis

Monday: Breaded fish with boiled potatoes and parsley sauce. Served with a salad

Tuesday: Tortellini with a tomato/bacon sauce, served with salad

Wednesday: I am not at home – Lukas and Matt will cook for themselves, possibly pizza from the freezer.

Thursday:  Meatloaf with leek (place leeks in a ovenproof dish and spread the meatloaf on top). Serve with a winter coleslaw and homemade wedges. 

Friday: Cottage pie, served with peas

Saturday: What-is-left-in-the-fridge-soup with homemade buns

Food Plan, week 8

I know – I seem to have skipped a week, I have decided to follow the calendar weeks rather than my own and this is week 8 according to the calendar.

I finally got to weigh myself for the first time since I started cutting down drastically on my carbs and was pleased to see a 2 lb (1 kg) weight loss since Tuesday……… that is the biggest loss in 5 days since the first dramatic weight loss back in August and that is without having been to the gym and having eaten LOADS of food whenever I wanted……. I think I can do this for a little longer.

Now, I have to plan my first full carb free food plan and that is going to take some thinking………. I also have to plan lunches now as I usually just have some toppings and bread at school, but now I am having to think meat and vegetables rather than sandwiches, so I have to have shopped for the right things and be prepared………

Monday: am (hopefully) out, so the boys will make something themselves. I will have an omelette when I get back in.

Tuesday: Pork chops with a vegetable and tomato sauce in the oven with melted cheese. Served with salad (and boiled potatoes or pasta)

Wednesday: Mince beef filled vegetables, served with a green bean salad (and baked potatoes)

Thursday; I am at work all day and night, so will eat there……… Matt and Lukas will cook something for themselves.

Friday: chicken curry served with onion bhajis.

Saturday: Gammon with spinach in a white sauce (and potatoes)

Sunday: curried meatballs (with rice) and salad

Food plan, week 6, 2012

This week I am home alone. Matt and Lukas are in England, so my food plan is looking pretty much like this: (would much prefer to spend my food budget on having fun with friends than making elaborate dinners for myself)

Monday: leftover spaghetti and meatballs from the weekend

Tuesday: At my friend’s fro dinner

Wednesday; Sushi in town for friends

Thursday: leftover tomato sauce from pizza with pasta

Friday: At my sister’s if they can be bothered having me

Saturday: out with a friend

Sunday: Hangover food…… probably McDonalds the way back from my friend’s

I will be doing loads of exercise classes, so really my week should look like this:

Monday: Thai Bo and Dance Fit

Tuesday: Zumba and Step Fit Intro

Wednesday; Swimming

Thursday: Zumba and Afro Powerdance

Friday: Latin Body Movement

Saturday: Body Fit and Latin Mix – possibly followed by a night out with my friend Karina……

Sunday: hangover!!!!

Matt and Lukas have not been to England together for ages. Lukas hasn’t been for more than 2 years and he is really excited to visit his grandma – and I am excited to have some  time to myself! WHOOP WHOOP!

Food plan, week 5, 2012

Life seems to evolve around work, training, more work and more training, but today has come to a halt as Lukas has had an ear ache on and off for 3 days and now it’s become clear that it’s not going to blow over by itself, so I am staying at home from work so get him to the doctor.Today I am baking loads of bread: healthy buns, baked with wholemeal flour, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and oats as well as burger buns for tonight’s “take-away”. May also do a couple of loaves to put in the freezer for next week.

Food wise I have not had anything specific on the go since I (again) cooked an Indian feast for my family on Sunday – this time I added a home made mango chutney.

I added 4 spoonfuls of white balsamic vinegar and 3 spoonfuls of sugar to the recipe as I didn’t find the sweet and sour taste to my liking, But then it was great and what I like is that when you make it fresh, let it cool and eat it the same day, you can really taste the mangoes….

Next week is going to be a bit uninspired -am still working through the content of the fridge and freezer so it is what it is (and pay day is on Tuesday!!!)

Sunday: Pork roast with crackling and roast potatoes and carrots with honey and lemon

Monday: Matt and Lukas alone: tomato soup and mashed potatoes (Lukas’ recipe), I will have a sandwich when I come home.

Tuesday: pumpkin soup, click on the link to see the recipe I am going to attempt:

Wednesday: I am home late, so am hoping there is enough soup left from Tuesday or we will have beans on toast.

Thursday: Spaghetti bolognese or spaghetti and meatballs, served with salad

Friday: cottage pie served with broccoli, carrots and peas

Saturday:  Thai green chicken and vegetable curry, served with noodles or rice

Sunday: Broccoli and fish quiche, served with salad

Week 6: I am alone from Monday as Matt and Lukas are in the UK, so probably won’t do a plan as I haven’t got a clue where I will be and what I will be doing and probably won’t bother cooking for myself,

Food plan, week 4, 2012

I am still trying to keep costs down (looking forward till next payday so we can have something a little bit more interesting). Still have a few things in the freezer which I of course will incorporate.

Sunday: chicken tikka masala and saag aloo with naan bread and onion bhajis and homemade mango chutney (at my sister’s – my brother has not yet had my Indian feast so will cook part of it.)

Monday: Chili con carne (big pot so there are leftovers for the next day) and red cabbage cole slaw. Served with rice.

Tuesday: I am at the cinema, (The Help (Niceville), in case you were wondering). Matt and Lukas: baked potatoes with chili con carne and cheese (or baked beans and cheese) and salad. Johanne’s packed lunch: Leftover chili con carne and pita bread

Wednesday: I am at a meeting all evening, Matt and Lukas: Chips and gravy with sausages, served with broccoli. Johanne’s packed lunch: pita bread with meatballs and vegetables.

Thursday: Rice pudding with sugar, cinnamon and butter knob

Friday: Homemade burgers.
